Follow our simple 6 Step Guide on How to Apply your Lash Serum to ensure you apply you lash serum effectively and safely.
1. Remove any contact lenses
If you have contact lenses remove these prior to application to prevent the serum coming into contact with your lenses. You can replace these 10-15 minutes after application.
2. Remove makeup and cleanse your face
Use makeup remover to clear off any eyeliner, shadow, and waterproof mascara and cleanse your face. Be sure your hands and eyes are clean of any dirt or makeup to ensure the serum adheres smoothly to your lashes.
3. Apply the lash serum
Remove the lash serum applicator and apply to the upper eyelash line. Close your eye and apply a thin coating across the roots of your upper lash line starting from the inside of your eye moving outward. Do not apply the lash serum to your lower eyelid lash, the serum will naturally apply to the lower lash as you blink.
4. Remove any excess serum
Blot away any excess serum from the corner of your eye to prevent irritation and potential for hair growth elsewhere.
5. Apply daily
Lash growth serums require consistent application to achieve results. Be sure to apply daily for at least 2-3 months to see full results. If you stop using the lash serum your lashes will return to their normal growth cycle. After 2-3 months you can reduce the application to 2-3 times per week to maintain results.
If some irritation is felt try applying every second day to see if your eyes adapt to the serum. If the irritation continues or you develop a severe reaction cease using the product.
Can I use lash serum with lash extensions?
Yes, lash serums are safe to use with lash extensions. Apply the lash serum across the root of the top lash line just as you would with a liquid eyeliner.
Can I use lash serum after a lash lift?
Yes. Wait 48 hours after a lash lift before applying a lash growth serum.
Are lash serums safe?
To answer this, first be aware that there are two main types of lash serums - peptide lash serums such as lash fridays, and prostaglandin lash serums such as latisse.
Prostaglandin containing lash serums have a small risk of pigmentation of the iris and eye lids. There is also a small risk of enophthalmos - shrinkage of fat around the eye, causing the eye to become sunken in.
Peptide based lash serums like lashfridays do not carry the risk of pigmentation or fat loss. The most common side effect is temporary irritation of the eye.
Why use lashfridays lash serum?
1. We use peptides not hormones
The main active ingredient in lashfridays is peptides. These are suitable for sensitive skin and have none of the risks that hormone based lash serums have such as pigmentation changes to the eyes and fat loss in the eye lid.
2. We use extra ingredients to nourish your lashes
Collagen enhances the appearance and feel of lashes by increasing lash body, suppleness and sheen. The oil from pumpkin seeds helps increase hair growth. Biotin adds body and shine to lash hair. Keratin is a type of protein that works by smoothing down the cells that overlap to form your lash hairs. This can make the lashes smoother and silkier.
